Thanks for visiting the Mended Drum OpenCollective Page. The Mended Drum is a Mastodon server hosted at mendeddrum.org, and serves as a friendly social place for fans of Terry Pratchett and/or Neil Gaiman to connect to 'the Fediverse'.
Running the server is of course not free, so your contributions are welcome! I strive to be as transparent as possible about the financial aspects of the Drum. Expect monthly financial updates in the news section below.
The running of the server is a private undertaking for family and friends, and any gifts are personal gifts for tax purposes. To prevent me from being taxed (and your money therefor being collected by the taxman and not one of the goals below), there is a €2000,-/year maximum donation limit. (Dutch tax laws would kick in with higher amounts, so Elon you needn't apply). Just to be absolutely crystal clear: donations are voluntary and no rights can be derived from them.

- To save for the coming months hosting bills up to a maximum of 12 times the last bill[1];
- Every six months, any superfluous donations will be given away, in turn, to support Alzheimer Research and the Orang Utan Foundation, in remembrance of #GNUTerry.
